LASTING IMPRESSIONS

Even through the extra thick sheet,
the first touch is felt deeply.
It bodes of hands which know,
hands wise in the ways of the body.
There is in all this unique experience,
the intimacy of non-intimate touch.
The holding hands with a stranger.
The vulnerability of allowing an
unknown one an exposure to
your belly, your face, your sighs
and moans which
heretofore only the closest know.
Humans do these things to one another;
the caring, the pushing and pulling,
the mystery of healing.
I am blessed to be
on earth where such things occur.
